The story of the exhibition "William Blake's Painting in the Light of Sahaja Yoga," created by Carol and Luis Garrido, began in 1984 in London. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the spiritual personality who founded Sahaja Yoga in the 1970s, presented them with an album of William Blake's paintings in her home. Details describing energy channels, chakras, as well as tattwas (divine principles in Vedic philosophy), and themes related to the detailed practice of Sahaja Yoga were identified. Special attention was given to the unique representation of the Virgin and Baby Jesus. Beyond encrypted messages and symbols, William Blake's paintings emitted immense vibrations and extraordinary joy, and Shri Mataji's enthusiasm was contagious throughout the community. Later, Shri Mataji, along with Sahaja yogis from London, visited the Tate Britain Gallery, where each painting was carefully analyzed. Shri Mataji demonstrated the source of vibrations, and those present were invited to verify them.

Luis Garrido's exhibition contains a selection of approximately 150 paintings by William Blake presented in three parts, of which 70 will be exhibited at the Metropolitan Library. This small series of paintings demonstrates that there are countless "Reflections of Sahaja Yoga Principles in William Blake's Paintings."

Shri Mataji stated, "Sahaja Yoga is intended for people with a very large heart, in which Jesus Christ could be adored. That is why William Blake clearly said that England should be Jerusalem."

In 2023, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi is celebrated. She lived a life dedicated to transforming people's lives through the discovery and development of their own spiritual natures. In the 1970s, she developed the Sahaja Yoga technique, which involves activating the Kundalini energy, allowing people to achieve a state of balance and develop intellectual and creative qualities. Shri Mataji traveled worldwide for over 40 years, giving speeches and seminars and offering practical teachings to thousands of people. Throughout her activities, Shri Mataji received the United Nations Peace Medal, the Pleiade Award 1996 (Italy), and the Gold Medal awarded by the "Eco Forum" Secretariat.

British lawyer of Portuguese origin, Luis Garrido, was part of the leadership of the Blake Society in London for 12 years and conducted research (in collaboration with the Blake Society and the London Borough) on the location of William Blake's and his wife Catherine's graves, identifying their exact location. He has published several acclaimed studies by researchers worldwide on the works of the great English poet and painter, including one on Jesus Christ in Blake's painting. Currently, Luis is working on a new research project on the connection between William Blake's philosophy and traditional Asian philosophical currents. Throughout all these activities, his wife, Carol Garrido (M.A.), a landscape architect and former accredited member of the Landscape Institute and the Blake Society committee, has been by his side.

A tour in Armenia

By Cleopatra David

A small country in Transcaucasia, the first Christian state in the history, following the ancient Urartu, Armenia has charmed our views and hearts this summer. We were there a group of volunteers and one professional artist touring and willing to share the light of Sahaja Yoga and universal cultural values with the inhabitants of this land.

There are lots of stories to tell and lots of experiences to describe: the tourist part, the multicultural programmes we had, the human contact, the spiritual life and the vibration reality.

The first stop was in Gyumri, where some of us traveled with the train from Yerevan. The landscape was rather poor, except for seeing for a while far away the Ararat Mountains. But various birds as storks, bee-eaters or hawks are embellishing our sight.

The most impressive place was Goris, surrounded by mountains and interesting rock shapes that we believe they might be swayambhus.

Not far away from here the Wings of Tatev cableway took us from  Halidzorand to the Tatev monastery in Armenia.

Tatev monastery hosted here the one of the most important Armenian medieval universities.

All the way the Caucasus Mountains showed to us simplicity and majesty. Rocky and arid mountains and very little places where forest can have roots.

Yerevan was the last stop with its majestic buildings, clean and elegant streets in the centre, and stunning collection at History Museum. Couldn't resist the temptation to visit Yerevan radio, famous in the jokes from URRS times. we saved a day for Garni, where we could see the temple, the Symphony of Stone and take a bath in the ice cold river.

The pictures will tell more

About the human and sahaj experience, we learnt a lot. The most important, that the connection in Sahastrara works better than any plans, that the honest desire and confidence work and that there is no such a thing as "too much" "too complicated" or "religious conditioning". The work is alive and it is done by the divine power if we are correctly tuned with it. If we are trying to fit this within the borders of our petty minds, than things become artificial, than we start either blaming ourselves for not being good enough, either the people for having conditioning or lack of appetite for knowledge, either the Sahaja Yoga itself.

In many cases, the local artists and children who sing and play traditional music were joining  our programmes. And this created bonds between the countries participating.

No, it was not all joyful and perfect, but it was a useful experience and a gain for this country.

The vibrations of Armenia are not easy. They recently had a revolution about which the international media kept complete silence. It was difficult to cross Agnya and go into meditation. Only after returning to Romania I could fix this problem properly. Also left void was to be felt.

Let's all pay attention for developing of Sahaja Yoga in this country, People are eager for knowledge and sahaj experience. They also need a place to learn, even this place is online. This country has only five young girls as collectivity. Let's help them in all the way possible

The Choices We Make Are Really Just a Matter of Taste?

By Cleopatra David

I had this discussion we some sahaja yogis in the past: what good music is, what quality is and so on. I affirmed that bad choices are a matter of awareness: many people never heard classical music, for example, and this is why they don't "chose it"; they were never exposed to it and they believe it is for rich people, while my opponents said it is just a matter of taste. If people like house, rap, etc. it is their business.
Well.....I discovered something more in the last days. I made some experiments on myself. Sometimes work exhausts me physically and mentally so I chose different kind of relaxation: watching a movie, watching a stand-up comedy show. Of course, my meditations are not so good when I am like this. When I have deep meditations and above my Sahastrara the vibrations are really strong, I can't bear cheap fun anymore. My Spirit demands something else: classical music, Indian classical music, reading a book. So our "choices" are made by who is dominating our being: the Spirit or the other parts.
Because art has vibrations and whatever has light addresses directly to the Spirit. Whatever has darkness, addresses to the dark side of the people.
Whatever is cheap and excites the body (like some dance music, for example) it is more related to our animal part.
Art is art, is culture, is carrying vibrations and elevates also the not realized people. Entertainment is another kind of business.
Yes, sometimes we all need to shake a little bit the animal inside us through a tribal dance. But we all should know what all is about and that is not the "pure joy" moment.

Easter Puja (Translated from Hindi). Calcutta (India), 14 April 1996.
Today we are doing Easter Puja. Today is a very important day for Sahaja Yogis because Isa-Messiah (Jesus) has shown us that redemption of human beings is possible, and for that redemption we should always put in an effort. There is also a meaning why He was crucified. He was crucified on the cross and this cross is a symbol of the Swastika on the Agya chakra. He was crucified and He left His body there only. He told some important things at that time and one most important thing out of this was “Wait for the Mother” – “Think of the Mother”. (Behold the Mother?)

Everybody can interpret it in a different way, but it seems He said that He will send for us such a shakti (power) who has three channels – Trigunatmika, and that is described very beautifully. One of these Shaktis/powers will give us comfort. This comfort-giving power in us is Mahakali’s power which gives us comfort, which cures our diseases, which corrects/solves many questions of our past. The second power, which He gave us, which He sent to us, was Mahasaraswati and to this Mahasaraswati Power, He called Counsellor, the one who will counsel you – that means, who helps us for Yognirupan (to see the form of Yoga). With the help of this second power, we will get Gyan (Knowledge), we will know the subtle knowledge. And the third power, (Mahalakshmi) with the help of which we will get our redemption...

First Persian Music Tour in Romania - Journal of a Manager

One day, I was contacted by a Facebook friend, who asked me to help him perform in Romania. He contacted many people and organisations in our country in the last years, but, from all of them, I succeeded in doing something. But  only with Mother's help. There were many things I didn't know how to do and I couldn't imagine myself a few months ago doing them. But I was just put in the situation of doing them. For example, organizing a concert with selling tickets, working with an accountant, and, more, making a project for funding and also gaining the competition in the context of not being able to pay the artists. But more, an amazing feed-back from media and the public came. We had sold out concerts, we had people coming from far distance only to attend a concert. We also had scandal for not being able to offer more tickets. We had many people who offered to help and they helped, Sahaja Yogis or not.
The concerts were held By Maestro (Sufi) Saeid Dadkhah and Hossein Sanaei, together with the sahaj tabla players Avadhut Kasinadhuni and Sorin Bunda.
We organised a traditional music gala, where Byzantine, Romanian folk (doina), Persian and Indian music joined together in the Catholic Cathedral St. Joseph. Here were invited together with already mentioned artists Cantores Ecclesiae choir, Ioana Marin, Anne Marie Ene.
The tour had 11 concerts and 2 workshops which took place in the most important Romanian cultural institutions, to whom we thank for all help and support: Romanian Cultural Ministry, Bucharest, Brasov and Ploiesti Philharmonic, Bucharest Music University  and Cluj Music Academy, Focsani Athenaeum, Onesti Library,  Cotton Club Cluj and Hermitage Urban Hub.
Thank you all: Sabin Badea, Bianca Badea, Mihai Dobrescu, Vlad Vasilescu, Gabriel, Anne, Sorin, Avadhut, Codrin Nicolau, Andrei Becheanu, Alina Sampetru, Cristi Munteanu.

Constantinopole - Chora Church

Istanbul is a city that bears a history from the ancient time, going to the Byzantine Empire and the beginning of official Christianity and then falling under the Ottoman conquerors and establishing the Islamic era. The mix of work, tourism and spirituality was a very happy one in my case. I was there for a concert of George Enescu Philharmonic Choir together with Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra with opera Norma by Vincenzo Bellini. This opera has the famous aria Casta Diva, which was often offered to Shri Mataji in musical programs. I succeeded in joining a sahaj program while I was there. I understood they are 100 yogis for a population of 14 millions, which is very little. But the Islamic propaganda is very aggressive this time. I remember that 20 years ago I haven’t seen many women wearing hijab. Now half of them do. Especially the young ones. And they look pretty arrogant too. Turkey is a laic state, though, due to Kemal Atatürk, a realized soul.

What I find very beautiful there is the mix of the Christian vestiges and the Islamic art. Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque situated on the two ends of a square are just a sample. While visiting Chora Church, which it is famous for her mosaics and fresco, I found out the canons of the representing the Holy Virgin and her mother in early Christianity. First of all, the pronaos of the church represents the whole life of the Holy Mother of Christ and we can see that She is equal important in that time with Jesus. The color for the Saint Anna (Mother of the Virgin) is pink (Shri Lakshmi), while the color of the Virgin’s clothes is blue (Shri Radha). Also, the Creation it is represented as a spiral (Kundalini) which has on her sides the Sun and the Moon. Enjoy the pictures!
