Known as “The Persian New Year”, Naw Roz is originally a Zoroastrian
festival, celebrated at the Spring Equinox. This year, Naw Roz started on the 21st
of March. One of the most interesting things related to this holiday is the
custom of painted eggs, which symbolize fertility.
Due to the presence in Romania
of a Sahaja Yogini from Iran,
we could celebrate this festival here. The items found on the table were:
garlic, apple, painted eggs, vinegar, spices and the book of Hāfez (Persian poet, realized soul)
